Project Management Key Challenge

 Technology is a major issue in project management. It is essential for the project team to work with innovative technology rather than backward technologies. Several business organizations have faced a devastating phase due to a lack of innovation (Walker 2016). With the modern needs of individuals, the technology is changing rapidly that promotes a need for effective innovation. Project management team face distinguished challenges during the project such as undefined project scope and goals, poor communication, ineffective leadership, time constraint and lack of innovation. These challenges raise a complex issue for the success of the project. A need for advanced technology is essential to manage the operational activities of the projects (Oak and Laghate 2016).

Especially IT project requires innovative technology to meet the needs of the stakeholders. The outdated process is a major reason for the failure of different projects (Walker 2016). Several examples can be identified from big companies who have faced a major issue with their outdated processes. A right process and innovation are necessary for the successful achievement of a project. Lack of innovation and technology failure also raises questions for the skills and capabilities of a project team. Kodak, Nokia and Yahoo are major examples of project management failures due to their outdated technology. Lack of innovation has impacted the organizations and their continuing processes (Chan et al. 2019; Walker 2016).

Kodak was a popular company in the 20^th century for the photographic film market. However, a denial for innovation at the time of the digital photography revolution has failed the organization due to disruptive technology. Another example is of Nokia company who was leading in mobile phones in the early 2000s. Wherein the organization continually focused on the old network and processes without adopting the new software. The company focuses more on hardware to deliver an effective customer experience with mobile phones. Somehow, this theory was not suitable for the organization and leads to impact the brand reputation of the firm. Lack of innovative technology and software up-gradation leads to impact the organizational position (Chan et al. 2019; Walker 2016).
